We need to raise $15,000 by July 14 to support families in YOUR area!!!
When Leah Martin looked down at her yard she knew something was wrong because a huge fish was flopping around on the grass. Soon after spotting the fish, she saw the water rising up around her house. Shortly after the water began rising, Leah, her husband Robert, her daughter Rebe and her grandson Cameron packed what they could into plastic bags and left their home in Mokane, MO behind. After spending two weeks in temporary storm shelters they heard about Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA).
"When we came through the door at CMCA we were helped immediately," says Leah.
Working with their CMCA Community Organizer Kellie, the Martins found a temporary home at the Westminster Grove Town Houses, in Fulton. With continued support from CMCA, they found a new place to live and are moving into a permanent home this month!
Helping families like the Martin's find a new home is one of the many ways that CMCA supports self-sufficiency. Our work is only possible when neighbors like you choose to give!
Your gift of $10, $25, $50 or more to the CMCA Support Self-Sufficiency campaign will help families facing difficult situations, like the Martins, receive needed support to get back on their feet and not only survive but THRIVE!
Donating is easy and will have a positive and lasting impact in your community!
CLICK HERE to donate online or send a check, made payable to Central Missouri Community Action, to CMCA, 807 N. Providence Rd, Columbia, MO 65203. All funds collected through this campaign will provide support to families in need.
